2nd face-to-face Project meeting in Athens

  • 22.11.2021 - 09:30

The second transnational SEEVAL project meeting took place in Athens on 22–23 November 2021, hosted by the Greek partner Action Synergy. The meeting was held in a hybrid format due to pandemic restrictions and quarantine of some of the project team members. Representatives of the partner organisations from Austria, Greece and Romania were present in Athens while the representatives from Bulgaria, Italy and Malta participated online.

Partners discussed on the progress of the National teacher trainings in the implementing countries Bulgaria, Greece, Italy and Romania, and on the forthcoming school piloting phase. The experts focused on the mentorship, which will be carried out during the piloting in support of the implementing schools and teachers. Among the topics discussed were also the challenges which the continued pandemic situation poses in front of the schools and educational systems.

In the afternoon of the first meeting day, the Greek partner organized a workshop on the Socratic Dialogue and Theatre Techniques as methodology for approaching social issues in secondary schools. The workshop was a practical input to the SEEVAL Trainers’ Training carried out online in June 2021. The background methodology of the workshop in Athens comes from another Erasmus+ project implemented by Action Synergy – EAR (ref.  604699-EPP-1-2018-1-EL-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN). The EAR methodology is consistent with the aims of the SEEVAL project and is a valuable addition to the methods which will be shared with the piloting teachers to support social and emotional learning, character building and development of positive purpose in classrooms and schools. More information on the EAR project can be found at its project website

On the second meeting day, the partners discussed the SEEVAL SEL Manual for teachers, which is under preparation under the guidance of Prof. Carme Cefai from the University of Malta. It contains guidelines and activities focused on the development of the social and emotional competences in secondary school students through a whole school approach.

The meeting also included a quality assurance session, discussions on the dissemination and on the SEEVAL Open Educational Resources’ Platform.
